Delighted to talk with you in one more blog of mine through BlockSurvey. I would like to share my knowledge of AI-powered survey tools and help you make the right selection decision. BlockSurvey is in itself a top-notch AI-powered survey tool. However, in this blog, I will discuss 8 AI-powered survey tools, including BlockSurvey.

Do you want to collect data? Are you confused about what questions to ask? Do you want to do market research? Do you want to collect consumer feedback? AI-powered survey tools will help you draft questions to ask for in a feedback survey or, for that matter, any kind of survey.

Artificial Intelligence is applied in the design, presentation, and analytics part of surveys. In this blog, I personally go to try out AI-powered survey tools and let you know my AI experience with those survey tools.

Having written for BlockSurvey and at the same time comparing it with its competitors is a bit tough job. However, I have tried to avoid bias and write clear thoughts and clarity. However, let’s move on.

The survey applications listed here are in no particular order.

I start with my personal favorite, BlockSurvey, my most cherished AI-powered secure data collection tool.

BlockSurvey

BlockSurvey was founded by Wilson Bright and Raja Ilayaperumal in the year 2019. My personal favorite is BlockSurvey for its simplistic and minimalist product development approach, which is highly evident when I use the tool. They were the first ones to adopt AI-driven question generator couple of years ago. It was done as part of OpenAI's case study using GPT3. As a user of BlockSurvey, I never felt overwhelmed. AI inclusion is also to the point, avoiding unwanted implementations that will make the user experience tough. BlockSurvey’s AI is designed to minimize bias while generating questions. As far as user experience is concerned, there is one survey tool that stands out, and that is BlockSurvey. I suggest you try BlockSurvey for sure.

Pros

  • Ability to create AI surveys from documents, URLs, and large texts.
  • Automated question type and question option generation are defining features.

Cons

  • AI implementation on the data analysis side could have been better.
  • Pros exceed Cons with my experience in using BlockSurvey.

Pricing

  • Standard: 29$ per month
  • Premium: 49$ per month
  • Team: 69$ per month

Next, we move on to discuss SurveyMonkey.

SurveyMonkey

Who are the founders of SurveyMonkey? If you guessed right, it is Ryan Finley and Chris Finley. They founded the company in the year 1999. SurveyMonkey embarks on the AI journey under the name SurveyMonkey Genius. Just like SurveySparrow, SurveyMonkey also has the option of creating survey questions through AI, but under the name “Build it For me.” I especially like the SurveyMonkey feature, where it selects the appropriate question type in accordance with the question typed. It also auto-generates appropriate options from available Likert scales.

Pros

  • The feature that selects the question type is truly defining.
  • The ability to calculate the estimated time to completion is phenomenal.

Cons

  • The team plan pricing seems to be a little expensive.
  • New players in the survey space are providing better features than SurveyMonkey.

Pricing

  • Starter Monthly: INR 899 per month
  • Team Advantage: INR 1550 per user per month
  • Team Premier: INR 3800 per user per month

How about discussing the new player Yay Forms next? Yes, it is Yay Forms next.

Yay Forms

Yay Forms was founded by Rafael Girao in the year 2021. Yay Forms is a pretty newcomer into the survey and forms space. Here, rather than AI applied to question generation, it is applied to detect sentiments and feelings in the response given by the user. Rafael has embarked on concepts like keyword extraction, sentiment summary, and audience feelings. Truly phenomenal to attain being a single founder. As the product name suggests, this is more of a form tool rather than a survey tool. Wishing all the best to Rafael to take this to greater heights.

Pros

  • Being a new player, it has the option to set the brand’s look and feel.
  • Feature to set conditional logic to switch between questions based on answers.

Cons

  • This lacks the option of question generation through Artificial Intelligence.
  • This form tool does not have Prebuilt templates.

Pricing

  • Starter: 15$ per month
  • Plus: 29$ per month
  • Professional: 59$ per month

Now, moving on to Typeform.

Typeform

With most survey platforms adopting AI, Typeform does not fall behind. Here is a use case I saw on the Typeform website. Say I input my email as [email protected]; Typeform recognizes that you are from Bfit and retrieves all your brand assets in designing the survey. When you are interested in creating a sign-up form for the gym Bfit, Typeform creates one for you, along with options for language optimization. I am impressed by how Typeform presents this Artificial Intelligence use case on its website. Nice presentation skill executed.

Pros

  • Retrieving Brand Assets after deducting the brand name from the email ID is a nice feature.
  • Typeform is working on advanced AI capabilities and has an early access link on its website.

Cons

  • The User Experience can be improved for a faster learning curve.
  • The Plus Plan price seems expensive for freelancers.

Pricing

  • Basic: 25$ per month
  • Plus: 50$ per month
  • Business: 83$ per month

It’s Qualtrics next.

Qualtrics

Qualtrics was founded in the year 2002 by Ryan, Jared, Scott, and Stuart. Given its long stint in the survey space, it managed to perform well with customers. Delighted is a survey platform of Qualtrics. Qualtrics emphasizes the power of AI in deriving meaningful insights from loads and loads of data collected from customers. They call it Experience Management. Although Qualtrics makes a bold statement on the power AI can have on data insights, it still has to prove its statement, as AI is still evolving and will continue to evolve.

Pros

  • It's an experienced survey tool.
  • It has a good user interface.

Cons

  • Despite its bold statements on AI, it still has to prove its worth with AI.
  • The premium plus plan pricing is very expensive for small businesses and freelancers.

Pricing

  • Starter: 17$ per month
  • Premium: 224$ per month
  • Premium Plus: 449$ per month

Let’s discuss Poll the People now.

Poll the People

Poll the People is an OpenAI-powered analysis platform. You can receive key insights from your survey responses while saving time and money. By integrating OpenAI language models into the survey process, Poll the People is able to provide a range of benefits. OpenAI language models have been trained on vast amounts of natural language text data, allowing them to understand and generate language in a way that is similar to human beings. This platform's customization option remains very low when compared to other survey platforms available in the market. Poll the people could have been integrated with more platforms like other survey platforms.

Pros

  • Effortlessly conduct consumer research with 500000+ panelists.
  • A very apt tool for performing market research.

Cons

  • Lacks top-notch branding kit capabilities like another survey platform like BlockSurvey.
  • The template inventory could have been more, covering wider topics.

Pricing

  • Plus: 50$ per month
  • Premium: 100$ per month
  • Enterprise: 10000$ per month

Now, FormStack.

FormStack

FormStack was founded in 2006 by Ade Olonoh. Originally created as an online form builder, Formstack has expanded its offerings to include data and workflow management for various industries. FormStack users can collect data with online forms. The platform leverages OpenAI technology to enable users to build smarter forms with features such as data validation and conditional logic.

Pros

  • Simple drag-and-drop interface that makes it easy for users.
  • GDPR, HIPAA, and SOC2 data security compliant.

Cons

  • FormStack’s pricing plan can be relatively expensive.
  • There may be a learning curve for new users who are not familiar with this tool.

Pricing

  • Forms: 50$ per month
  • Documents: 92$ per month
  • Sign: 18$ per month
  • Suite: 66$ per month

Last on the list is SurveySparrow. Read on.

SurveySparrow

SurveySparrow is founded by Shihab Muhammed in the year 2017. SurveySparrow is available in 80+ international languages. Artificial Intelligence comes in very handy while generating survey questions on the go. They also have sharing and data analytics options to make your survey data collection journey smoother and easier. Get ready to take informed actions with the data collected from this AI-powered survey. I take this opportunity to congratulate Shihab Muhammed for bringing SurveySparrow to what it is today.

Pros

  • The AI-powered survey builder has come out well and helps create surveys on the fly.
  • It expands its functionality by integrating with other applications like Slack, Trello, etc.

Cons

  • The UI could have been more intuitive to support faster onboarding and usage.
  • The functionality is very similar to SurveySparrow and is mostly a copycat.

Pricing

  • Individual basic: 19$ per month
  • Individual starter: 39$ per month
  • Team Business: 79$ per month
  • Team Professional: 249$ per month
