How BlockSurvey helps you to build your Survey team
Teams get more done when they work together. This guide covers how BlockSurvey helps you build and run a survey team.
Create your survey team
We built Team Workspace so people can work together to create surveys and forms and collect data. You can invite team members, set custom roles and permissions for each member, collaborate in real time, and apply custom branding.
Running a business is rarely a solo effort. The results you want depend on other people's contributions. On a team, you work toward something larger than your own goals, and the team succeeds only when everyone works as one unit.
Working together brings several benefits. It creates a healthier, safer work environment. People learn more from each other. They get more done, with better outcomes. It opens up room for creativity. Teams can spot problems before they happen, and they reach a shared sense of accomplishment faster.
How to create your team in BlockSurvey
To start, click "Create a teamspace" on the dashboard to open a new team workspace.

Next, you will be prompted to enter a team name, as shown below. Say an app creation team needs to run a survey to get real-time feedback and ideas for their application's UI/UX. In this example, the new team is named "App Creators". After entering the name, click "Create team".

The team can build a template from scratch, start from BlockSurvey's pre-made templates, or use the Brand Kit for brand-focused designs. Teammates can work at the same time on collaborative surveys, forms, and polls.
Go to Team's Settings → Team → Manage Team → Invite members. Enter the teammate's name and their BlockSurvey account id. You can assign one of four roles: Admin, Member, Contributor, or Guest, each with different access permissions. This example uses Member.

Once the member accepts your invitation, they are added to your team. You can now start collaborating with your teammate.

You can add a custom domain to make things more personalized. You can also configure email settings to send emails and write custom messages with the Messages option. All of these are in Team's "Settings".
Roles and permissions for teams
Admin
The administrator can invite members and manage their permissions. They can create and publish surveys, and view responses and analytics. Admins have the most access of any role, and they handle billing and payment decisions.
Member
Members can create surveys, forms, and polls. They can publish forms and view responses.
Contributor
A Contributor cannot share, publish, or see responses. They can help design and build surveys, forms, and polls, and they can create dashboards.
Guest
A Guest can only view responses. This lets them review the results and make decisions based on them.
Advantages of team collaboration
Design together
You can design forms together in Team Workspace. In the App Creators example, teammates each contribute questions so the survey reflects everyone's input. This design work can happen at the same time or asynchronously.
Analyze together
Beyond design, you can view responses and analyze the data together. In the App Creators example, teammates review responses and make decisions based on the insights and information.
Asynchronous work
Members can work whenever it suits them. They can pick their own hours and still contribute to a collaborative survey. Asynchronous work has become a common way to operate.
Consistent branding
You get consistent branding through the Brand Kit and custom domain. The Brand Kit keeps your logo and fonts matching your brand. Large organizations tend to find the team workspace option a good fit.
Flexible work
Flexible workspaces benefit both your employees and your bottom line, whatever your company size. The team workspace lets you move at the pace of your business.
What's next
It helps to create the right mix of people and roles for your survey team. Once that is set, you are ready to build it.
If your team members don't have a BlockSurvey account yet, have them create one. Then create a team workspace and send invitations. Members have to accept before they can help build the survey. There is no limit on how many members you can add to a team workspace. Working as a team encourages constructive feedback, along with the other benefits covered above.
BlockSurvey helps you build a survey team with a clear purpose. If your team works in marketing, you can create employee surveys or market surveys to gather insights from respondents. Those insights can help you improve your marketing. In the same way, an organization can collect responses from employees, a business can collect responses from customers, and a product developer can gather feedback on a product idea. With BlockSurvey, all of this data is end-to-end encrypted, so it stays secure and resistant to data breaches.
Working as a team gives you room to think more broadly. BlockSurvey's Team Workspace is built to support that. You can use our 1000+ free survey/form templates to collaborate and adapt them for your data collection needs.
