How Biohacking India Keeps Patient Data Truly Private with End-to-End Encrypted Questionnaires
Hi, I'm Yohan Tengra, a functional medicine consultant based in Mumbai, India. Through Biohacking India, I take a diagnostics-first approach, using comprehensive blood testing and data-driven analysis to create personalized 90-day health protocols. Each case involves 3–4 hours of investigative work and highly sensitive health data that my clients trust me to keep private and secure. I've been a BlockSurvey customer since 2021, first for activist work and later as the data collection backbone of my medical practice.
The challenge
I handle sensitive medical data which includes blood work, clinical histories, and symptom records — that standard form tools aren't built to protect. Most survey and form platforms can still access patient submissions, which wasn't acceptable for my practice or my clients. I needed image uploads for lab reports and flexible questionnaires across intake, retest, and follow-up scenarios - without manual overhead.
The solution
BlockSurvey's end-to-end encryption meant patient responses were readable only by me — not even BlockSurvey could access the data. I created four questionnaires for different consultation workflows and connected them to an automated n8n and Airtable workflow. Blood reports received via email are automatically matched with patient responses and organized into my custom clinical templates. The image upload feature and AI-assisted questionnaire templates made patient intake thorough, structured, and easy to complete.
The results
My entire patient intake pipeline now runs automatically, freeing me to focus on the investigative work each case demands. I see 10–15 clients a month across four active questionnaires, with response quality consistently meeting my clinical standards. Four years later, end-to-end encryption remains the primary reason I stay with BlockSurvey. When collecting sensitive medical data, privacy isn't just a feature - it's a requirement.
