How common is sexual abuse?
Sexual abuse is unfortunately quite common. One in four women and one in six men will be sexually abused at some point in their lives.
What are the consequences of sexual abuse?
Sexual abuse can have a range of physical and psychological consequences, including but not limited to depression, anxiety, post-traumatic stress disorder, and substance abuse. Victims of sexual abuse may also have difficulty trusting others and may have trouble in their personal and professional relationships.
