Rise is not an emergency service. If you are in immediate danger, please call 911.

If you have an upcoming hearing or need legal advice on you matter immediately:

- call the Family Law Line at 604-408-2172 (Lower Mainland) or 1-866-577-2525 (elsewhere in BC).

- you may also be get help from duty counsel in you area. See

https://legalaid.bc.ca/legal_aid/familyDutyCounsel for more information.

Rise serves self-represented clients primarily through family law matters. Through our different services, you may be able to get summary legal advice, be supported by our family law advocates, or may be able to get limited legal services. To determine how we can best assist you in your legal matter, you will first speak with a navigator (who is not a lawyer). The navigator is able to assess if Rise is the best resource to assist you and can then refer to an appropriate program within Rise or in the community. Depending on our wait times, and if you eligible, it can take a few weeks to speak with a lawyer.

Online Safety: We take your safety and security very seriously and do our best to ensure that all client information is protected. However, the digital world creates safety risks for everyone. Computer use can be monitored and hacked, people with access to passwords and synced devices may check your email, and it is often impossible to clear all data related to computer use.

If you are concerned about digital safety, please use a safe computer such as a public terminal at a library or a computer at a community organization and ensure that your passwords are secure. BC Society of Transition Houses has compiled resources and tips on digital safety; see below:
